The mare makes the difference: Ta Belle van Sombeke

Ta Belle van Sombeke (Chin Chin – La Belle van Sombeke x Goliath Z, bred by Luc Hofman) belongs to the top three Belgium bred Chin Chin daughters, besides Usha van ‘t Roosakker and Qerly Chin, who wrote history for the Belgian breeding.

The mother: La Belle van Somebeke produced, including Ta Belle van Sombeke, three offspring who jumped at 1m60 level. All three were mares. Ta Belle van Somebeke and Ba Belle (Kannan) were able to give offspring that have competed at top level. Starting with Ba Belle, she is mother to: Quabelle (Helios de la Cour II) 1m60 under the saddle of Blythe Marano and Ratina Kervec (Diamant de Semilly) 1m60 under the saddle of Marc Dilasser.

Ta Belle van Sombeke competed at 1m60 level under the saddle of Jos Lansink. They won the Grand Prix of Zuidlaren and St. Tropez, because of an injury she was retired at the age of 11. She stayed with Jos Lansink as a broodmare. She produced in total 16 offspring and five of them jumped at 1m60 level and seven other  competed.  The most known offspring of Ta Belle van Sombeke are GLOCK’s London (Nabab de Reve, Gerco Schröder), Golden Hawk (Vigo d’Arsouilles, Shane Breen) and A Pikachu de Muze (Kannan, Billy Twomey). The last one was World Champion of the six year old jumping horses in Lanaken. Ta Belle van Sombeke is also mother of Taran de la Pomme (Tolano van ‘t Riethof) who jumped at 1m60 under the saddle of Kevin Staut and Karline de Brabander. Also from Casimir de la Pomme (Nabab de Reve) who jumped at 1m60 under the saddle of Alexandros Fourlis.

Ta Belle van Sombeke’s daughters have been able to pass on the performance genetics! Her daughter Wabelle de Muze who competed at 1m50 herself is mother to Cerise de Muze who competed at 1m50 under the saddle of Laurent Thirion. Wabelle de Muze her son Delvaux de Muze (Diamant de Semilly) jumped at 1m50 under the saddle of Stephane Delaveau. Quasibelle du Seigneur (Rubens du ri d’Asse) is mother of the 1m60 jumping horse Oak Grove’s Heartfelt (Heartbreaker) under the saddle of Harm Lahde, Arac du Seigneur (Ogano Sitte) who jumped at 1m60 under the saddle of Angelique Rüsen and Vivald Ick (Vivaldi du Seigneur) who is competing at 1m50 under the saddle of Ivo Biessen.

Dabelle (Nabab de Reve) is a daughter of Ta Belle van Sombeke that jumped at 1m55 under the saddle of Greg Patrick Broderick.

The youngest daughter of Ta Belle van Sombeke, Vibelle Z (Vigo d’Arsouilles), has offspring that will have their future in Brazil, at Haras BR. Daniel Brambilla Biscaro explains:

I already have some mares out of the best broodmares in the world, but was missing one special out of Ta Belle van Sombeke. She belongs to a very special family, with a lot of important horses on highest levels of the sport. Her production is more than proven and desired. I’m not the owner of Ta Belle’s youngest daughter, unfortunately!!! I bought one embryo and one filly out of Vibelle Z.  The embryo gave us a very beautiful young stallion by Cumano, 4 months old, named COSMIC BR and the filly is amazing, by Carthago Z, 3 months old, named TABELLE BR. We will keep them in Belgium until complete 6 months, them they will come to Brazil to grow up in our Farm, until become Sport Horses and start the embryo tranfers.

GLOCK’s London had this year his special retirement at CSIO Geesteren. He performed almost 10 years at top level. Together with his top rider Gerco Schröder they got the individual silver medal at the Olympic Games of London in 2012. In 2014 they won the gold team medal with the Dutch team at the World Equestrian Games of Caen. They won the Grand Pix’s of Cannes, Doha, Rio, Salzburg and Vienna. In 2014 he was purchased by Gaston Glock for the price of 8,6 million Euro.

“A horse, who gives all at the right moment.” According to Gerco Schröder

Ta Belle van Sombeke her son Golden Hawk has represented Ireland in Nations' Cup Teams under  the saddle of Shane Breen.  Golden Hawk has progeny competing internationally up to CSI5* level, including the very exciting Evita van't Zoggehof ridden by Lorenzo de Luca.

The genetics of Ta Belle van Sombeke wil stay for a long while available in showjumping breeding.
