The damline of In Love JW van de Moerhoeve
This amazing rare mare In Love JW van de Moerhoeve (Jenson van ’t Meulenhof – Ischgl de Muze x Nabab de Reve) has all the ingredients to become a top sport broodmare. Her dam Ischgl de Muze jumped at 1.30m and already gave two approved sons, both very interesting stallions; Opium JW van de Moerhoeve (Kannan) who is currently competing at 1.40m under the saddle of Willem Greve and Mumbai van de Moerhoeve who is competing at 1.60m under the saddle of Christian Kukuk. The last combination won last year in December, when Mumbai was eight, the 1.60m Grand Prix of Riyadh.
Eureka van ‘t Roosakker
The granddam of In Love JW van de Moerhoeve is Eureka van ‘t Roosakker a.k.a. VDL Groep Eureka. She also belongs to the select group of outstanding daughters by Chin Chin. She jumped 1.60m under the saddle of Maikel van der Vleuten.
He recalls:
“Eureka was special mare and she had several top qualities. She was very careful, that was already extreme when she was six years old and that always stayed like that. She was a very fast horse by nature and could make very sharp turns. Her willingness to perform and her mentality were top. I got her under saddle when was in the end of her fifth year. I started with Eureka in 1.20m classes and I educated her through the levels up to 1.60m. I am happy to see that her offspring (also as being a grandmother) are doing well. It shows again that in breeding the motherline is very important. Eureka was a mare with extreme quality so things would have gone very weird if she wouldn’t be able to pass those qualities on to her offspring. I think that she passed her willingness to perform to her offspring. The good things in her offspring you can see in her too.”
Until now VDL Groep Eureka has 10 offspring, registered in five studbooks. Her best offspring so far is Jeleena de Muze (Tornado FCS) who is jumping 1.60m under the saddle of Lauren Tisbo.
Ischgl de Muze
Nabab de Reve x Chin Chin is a magical cross, Kurt de Clerq knows that better than anyone. He rode Qerly Chin, Walnut de Muze, Werly Chin de Muze, Ta Belle van Sombeke and many more as a young horse. He is the breeder of In Love JW van de Moerhoeve and he recalls:
“I discovered Ischgl de Muze at the free jumping championship during the show in Mechelen. She jumped absolutely amazing and I was already well known with the combination Nabab de Reve x Chin Chin and I really wanted to buy her and it worked out well.
The quality of this line is the intelligence. That was already something that you saw with Eureka and Ischgl. You also see it back in the offspring of Ischgl. The competition mentality, that they enter the arena and that they want to fight for you and want to stay clear. That is nowadays also the most important factor. The willingness to perform and to want to work with you. Mumbai was like that as a young horse, Opium was like that and we see this also with other horses from this line.
In March In Love JW van de Moerhoeve will have a son in the third phase of the BWP stallion approvals, this is Sparkling JW – van de Moerhoeve (By Cera d’Ick). I used By Cera d’Ick already earlier because Joris de Brabander just bought him in France because he was totally convinced of his free jumping. He comes out of a fantastic dam (Fein Cera) who has jumped at the highest level in combination with Stakkato. I was riding at the time the young stallions from Joris de Brabander and that is how I knew about By Cera d’Ick.
I hope that the horses that I still have today will step up in the future up to the level of Mumbai and Opium or will produce offspring that have their quality. Eureka fits for me in the same line of quality broodmares as Qerly Chin, Ta Belle van Somebeke and Usha van ‘t Roosakker.”
